Literature
an updated portraiture, itinerary
i tear fistfuls of clay from the fringes of my face,
revealing raw creases and the universe
i've weathered.
eyes dimmed to a gradient further down the railway, mouth
hung on uneasy notch
teeth tattered in a rattle
i run along the loop untethered
to an image of youth; disappear
into whisper of smoke (sizzled on the tracks
of time).
one waystation. one way
station. no ticket for return, still
searching for accelerated curvature
to bring me
to you?
to home?
or parts unknown
somewhere unseen by the horizon
or somewhere the heart won't go
to yesterday? or back to tomorrow
when it still clung against the colors of the sky
